Using my blog

As a PE teacher, there are certainly things that I must communicate to students and parents. A big problem I have is that students often come into the gym improperly dressed. Having a blog can remind students and parents of the importance of dressing out. Second, I can put on there my weekly schedules and calendars.

As a coach, this can more helpful. I can post weekly practice schedules, and give my athletes and students a heads up.

What other ways do you I can use a blog best in my teaching a coaching?

  1. Perhaps your blog could also provide web links to sites you find beneficial. For instance; to health sites, local sporting events, etc.

  2. Thanks a great idea. I have a website through school with some of that, but it would be good to link it to here as well

  3. Phil,
One idea I had to incorporate technology in PE is to use it in a way to track student progress. For example, my students usually run once a week for a set amount of time. You could use the computers to have students create graphs as to how many miles they have run. I think when they start to see it in terms of miles, they will be motivated to keep pushing themselves. They could also track their progress in the weight room. Personally, I would review my progress and enjoy seeing how much stronger I have become or if I have not improved, I would push myself harder. I think the majority of your students would feel the same way. Or how about this idea. Have some type of physical competition between another school and track the results using a blog?
